Family Program Coordinator

The Family Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the adult education, parent engagement, and wraparound supports components of the Mi Casa’s two Neighborhood Center locations in northwest Denver.  The Mi Casa Neighborhood Center is designed to provide children, youth, and families with needed community services and to transform a public school into a neighborhood center of opportunity, service, and safety for entire families.  The Family Programs Coordinator will spend approximately 20 hours a week at the Lake Middle School campus and 10 hours a week at North High School.

Academic Enrichment Program Coordinator

The Academic Enrichment Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator) is responsible for the implementation two afterschool academic enrichment programs for high school students at the Mi Casa Neighborhood Center at North High School.  The Neighborhood Center is designed to provide children, youth, and families with needed community services and to transform a public school into a neighborhood center of opportunity, service, and safety for entire families.  The program focuses on the following core areas: Academic Success, STEM Learning, Life Skills and Career Readiness, and Service Learning. The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Digital Connectors and Tutoring programs.  Digital Connectors program is a 9-month leadership and technology training program for youth aged 15 to 19. This program helps participants develop in-depth digital literacy skills, explore careers in information technology and digital media, and share their expertise with the community through service learning projects that help close the digital divide. The Tutoring program provides small group math and literacy tutoring to high school sophomores through seniors.

Youth Advocate

The Youth Advocate is responsible for the implementation of Mi Casa Neighborhood Center’s Student Services, which include intensive case management and life skills classes.  Mi Casa’s Student Services are designed to keep high-risk middle school students free of drugs and crime involvement, engaged in school, and hopeful about their futures.  The Youth Advocate will maintain a caseload of ten youth, working with the youth and their families on goal setting and intervention plans to support academic success and positive youth development.  The Youth Advocate meets with students individually, conducts family home visits, facilitates social skill development, and works closely with the school to improve the students’ academic success.  Additionally, the Youth Advocate facilitates life skills class throughout the school year and summer.
